David Gilmore, a retired engineer turned painter, is a resident of Kingston area. He started painting in oils at age 8 while growing up in Montreal. About forty years ago he developed a keen interest in watercolour painting. When he was posted to London, UK from 2000-2005 he studied watercolour painting with three established UK artists. He has had solo shows in Kingston, Ontario and in Switzerland. He exhibited at the Rideau Valley Art Festival Show, at Art-in-the-Barn, at the Art-in-the-Sawmill show, at the Grace Community Centre show, Sydenham, and, at Verona’s Art-in-the-SawMill. He is a member of the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association (RLAA) and volunteers at the Kingston open studio called “The Mess”.
